{"id":96673,"date":"2022-07-06T15:49:59","date_gmt":"2022-07-06T14:49:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=96673"},"modified":"2022-07-06T15:49:59","modified_gmt":"2022-07-06T14:49:59","slug":"buhari-reshuffles-cabinet-as-new-ministers-take-oath-of-office","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/buhari-reshuffles-cabinet-as-new-ministers-take-oath-of-office\/","title":{"rendered":"Buhari reshuffles cabinet as new Ministers take oath of office\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1737614524072267267\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday reshuffled his cabinet, as seven new ministers recently\u00a0 screened and confirmed by the Senate took their oath of office.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The President swore in the ministers as he presided over the regular Wednesdays Federal Executive Council ( FEC) meeting.The Ministers who took their oath in two batches include Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh \u2013 Abia State, Umana Okon Umana \u2013 Akwa Ibom State, Odum Odih \u2013 Rivers State and Ademola Adewole Adegoroye \u2013 Ondo State.<br \/>\nThe second batch sworn in are, Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub \u2013 Kano State, Goodluck Nnana Opiah \u2013 Imo State and Egwumakama Joseph Nkama \u2013 Ebonyi State.<\/p>\n<p>The President later assigned the new Ministers with their portfolios, in which he also made some minor cabinet changes<\/p>\n<p>In the new arrangement, Adeleke Mamora, was moved from office of Minister of State, Health, to head the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, as full fledge Minister.<\/p>\n<p>Mua\u2019azu Sambo, was named new Minister of Transportation, while Umanna Okon Umanna, assumed headship of the Niger Delta Ministry as the substantive Minister.<\/p>\n<p>Sharon Ikeazor, was moved from the Ministry of Environment to Minister of State for Niger Delta.<\/p>\n<p>Gbemisola Saraki was also moved from the Ministry of Transportation to the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, as Minister of State<\/p>\n<p>Umar Ibrahim El- Yakub, assumed office as the new Minister of State for Works and Housing<\/p>\n<p>Goodluck Nanah Opia, was appointed new Minister of State for Education, recently vacated by Emeka Nwajiuba.<\/p>\n<p>Ekunmankama Joseph Nkama , one of the newly appointed Ministers, was posted to the Ministry of Health, as Minister of State<\/p>\n<p>Ikoh Henry Ikechukwu was made the Minister of State, Science , Technology and Innovation<\/p>\n<p>This is just as Odum Udi, takes over as Minister of State for Environment<\/p>\n<p>Ademola Adewole Adegoroye, was posted to the Ministry of Transportation, as the Minister of State.<\/p>\n<p>Before the swearing in, a minute silence was observed in honour of Mohammed Barkindo, the 4th Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC Secretary-General, who died at the age of 63,<br \/>\nTuesday night<br \/>\n.<br \/>\nThose who physically attended the FEC are the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha; and Chief of Staff to the President, Prof Ibrahim Gambari.<br \/>\nOther Ministers who are also in attendance include the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, Education, Adamu Adamu, Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, Mines and Steel, Olamilekan Adegbite, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, and Minister of State Budget, National Planning, Clem Agba and State, Industry Trade and Investment, Maryam Katagun.<br \/>\nEnd<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday reshuffled his cabinet, as seven new ministers recently\u00a0 screened and confirmed by the Senate took their oath of office.
