{"id":97073,"date":"2022-07-19T11:27:52","date_gmt":"2022-07-19T10:27:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=97073"},"modified":"2022-07-19T11:27:52","modified_gmt":"2022-07-19T10:27:52","slug":"anger-in-imo-as-ebubeagu-operatives-kill-7-wedding-guests-5-others-missing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/anger-in-imo-as-ebubeagu-operatives-kill-7-wedding-guests-5-others-missing\/","title":{"rendered":"Anger in Imo as Ebubeagu operatives kill 7 wedding guests, 5 others missing"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">The people of Imo State\u00a0 were on Monday thrown\u00a0 into panic, confusion and anger following the alleged gruesome murder of\u00a0 no fewer than seven wedding guests\u00a0 by operatives of Ebubeagu security outfit\u00a0 in a community\u00a0 in Oru\u00a0 West Local\u00a0 Government Area of the state.<\/p>\n<p>According to\u00a0 an eye witness,\u00a0 the gunmen allegedly opened fire and killed seven guests Sunday while on their way home from a wedding ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>Pointblanknews.com gathered that the \u201dincident\u00a0 happened on Sunday\u00a0 when the victims were returning to their community in Otulu in Oru\u00a0 East Local Government Area of the state from Awomama in the neighbouring Oru West LGA before the suspects opened fire on them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The President- General of Otulu community, Nnamdi Agbor, in reaction to the incident,\u00a0 confirmed that \u201cseven persons died on the spot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He further\u00a0 said \u201cour people were coming back from Awomama around 7pm after a traditional wedding, the gunmen\u00a0 saw them in motorcycles and opened fire on them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to him, \u201cAs I speak to you, we have recovered seven dead bodies who are our people. Five are missing. Two are critically\u00a0 injuried and hospitalized while the other person who sustained minor injury has been discharged.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is very unfortunate. Our people are angry. They are protesting. There was no cause for the killing. They were just riding home when operatives of the Ebubeagu Security outfit opened fire on them. This has never happened before.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have reported the incident to the security agents. The Commissioner of Police and the Commander of the 34 Artillery Brigade command Obinze have visited.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said,\u00a0 \u201cwe have reported the killing to the member representing us at the parliament.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe celebrant is Chijioke Nnanna\u00a0 while\u00a0 those arrested are Uchenna Orjiribeka, Chido Ekesinachi and Nnamdi Ekesinachi and those in the hospital are Oluebube Agbor and .
