The FCT High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja has today granted suspended Accountant-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris Bail over allegations of money laundering levelled against him.<\/div>\n

\nJustice A.O. Adeyemi Ajayi granted bail to Idris and three other defendants in the case, pending the determination of their case.<\/p>\n

The Judge granted them bail based on the Administrative conditions of the EFCC by which they were granted an earlier bail.<\/p>\n

Idris appeared before the court, on a 14-count charge of stealing and criminal breach of trust to the tune of N109, 485,572,691.9. He is arraigned alongside Godfrey Olusegun Akindele, Mohammed Kudu Usman and Gezawa Commodity Market and Exchange Limited who stand as 2nd to 4th defendants in the Case.<\/p>\n

Justice Adeyemi admitted the 1st defendant (Idris) to bail in the sum of 5 billion naira and two sureties in the like sum. The sureties must include one Permanent Secretary and one Director.<\/p>\n

In the same vein the co-defendants in the Case, were also granted bail in the sum of 2 Billion naira each, with two directors as sureties.<\/p>\n

In addition, the defendants are not to leave Abuja until the duration of the trial, except by the order of the court.<\/p>\n

They are also to sign an Affidavit of Assurance that there will available for trial and another affidavit proving that they do not have another passport except the one they tendered with EFCC.\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
