{"id":97466,"date":"2022-07-28T20:46:34","date_gmt":"2022-07-28T19:46:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=97466"},"modified":"2022-07-28T20:46:34","modified_gmt":"2022-07-28T19:46:34","slug":"bandits-fg-will-sanction-bbc-trust-tv-lai-mohammed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/bandits-fg-will-sanction-bbc-trust-tv-lai-mohammed\/","title":{"rendered":"Bandits: FG will sanction BBC, Trust TV \u2013 Lai Mohammed"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1739626576136568097\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Federal Government of Nigeria says it will sanction the BBC and Trust TV, a television owned by Media Trust Group, over their stories on bandits in the northern region of the country.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nIn separate documentaries, BBC Africa Eye and Trust TV recently exposed the activities of terrorists making life difficult for Nigerians.<\/p>\n<p>However, speaking with journalists in Abuja on Thursday, Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, said the documentaries promoted terrorism in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mohammed, the appropriate regulatory body was already looking at the infractions and appropriate sanctions would be meted out to both platforms.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cThere is a regulatory body regulating broadcasting which is the Nigeria Broadcasting Commission (NBC) and they are also aware of these two incidents.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n\u201cThey are looking at which part of the Broadcasting Code that has been violated by the BBC and Trust TV.
