{"id":97741,"date":"2022-08-05T12:18:31","date_gmt":"2022-08-05T11:18:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=97741"},"modified":"2022-08-05T12:18:31","modified_gmt":"2022-08-05T11:18:31","slug":"bandits-attack-kidnap-ondo-traditional-ruler-four-others","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/bandits-attack-kidnap-ondo-traditional-ruler-four-others\/","title":{"rendered":"Bandits attack, kidnap Ondo traditional ruler, four others"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">Bandits have abducted a traditional ruler, the Oniru of Iku, in Ondo.<\/p>\n<p>The bandits also abducted four subjects travelling with the Ikare Akoko ruler.<\/p>\n<p>Mikaila Bello, the Oniku of Iku in Ikare Akoko, was kidnapped, on Thursday evening, while travelling back to the town from Akure.<\/p>\n<p>A local hunter told newsmen that the attack on the Ondo ruler occurred in the early hours of Friday.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nAccording to the hunter, the bandits ambushed the ruler and the other victims along Ago Panu on the Owo-Ikare road.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n\u201cThe driver of the vehicle was stabbed by the gunmen, but we were able to rescue him alone and rushed him to the hospital,\u201d said the hunter, who also serves as a vigilante in the area. \u201cHe is there receiving treatment now with wounds all over his body. Sadly, these people (bandits) are still lurking around our forest in Ondo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The kidnappers had yet to contact the victims\u2019 families or demand a ransom.<\/p>\n<p>Police spokesperson Funmilayo Odunlami did not immediately respond to request on the attack.<\/p>\n<p>The attack and kidnap came barely weeks after an armed gang attacked a construction company in Owo, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu\u2019s hometown.<\/p>\n<div class=\"yj6qo\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"adL\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bandits have abducted a traditional ruler, the Oniru of Iku, in Ondo.
