{"id":97785,"date":"2022-08-06T16:46:55","date_gmt":"2022-08-06T15:46:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=97785"},"modified":"2022-08-06T16:46:55","modified_gmt":"2022-08-06T15:46:55","slug":"four-cops-killed-vehicles-burnt-as-gunmen-invade-imo-police-station","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/four-cops-killed-vehicles-burnt-as-gunmen-invade-imo-police-station\/","title":{"rendered":"Four Cops Killed, Vehicles Burnt As Gunmen Invade Imo Police Station"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rampaging gunmen have attacked Agwa Divisional Police headquarters in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, killing four policemen.<\/p>\n<p>The gunmen, who stormed the police station on Friday night, also razed part of the divisional property, including vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Among the victims were two male and female officers whose bodies were set ablaze.<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">According to a source, one of the slain officers was only two weeks old in the force.<\/p>\n<p>One of the vehicles burnt belonged to the Divisional Police Officer.<\/p>\n<p>The gunmen on the same night also invaded the house of a resident identified only as Ejike, shot him and his wife before fleeing. Ejike died on the spot.<\/p>\n<p>Our correspondent gathered that the gunmen struck around 10pm in a tipper and two sienna cars.<\/p>\n<p>Residents said they started hearing gunshots but were scared to go out.<\/p>\n<p>A police source told our correspondent that some policemen had been drafted from outside the division and had taken over the area while the state Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Berde, was being expected at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>Police Public Relations OOfficerin the state,\u00a0 CSP Mike Abattam, is yet to speak on the incident as calls put to him did not go through.<\/p>\n<div class=\"yj6qo\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"adL\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rampaging gunmen have attacked Agwa Divisional Police headquarters in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, killing four policemen.
