{"id":97855,"date":"2022-08-09T09:01:20","date_gmt":"2022-08-09T08:01:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=97855"},"modified":"2022-08-09T09:01:20","modified_gmt":"2022-08-09T08:01:20","slug":"shittu-asks-apc-to-punish-amosun-for-anti-party-activities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/shittu-asks-apc-to-punish-amosun-for-anti-party-activities\/","title":{"rendered":"Shittu asks APC to punish Amosun for anti-party activities"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"I_ZkbNhI D_FY W_6D6F\" data-test-id=\"message-view-body\">\n<div class=\"msg-body P_wpofO mq_AS\" data-test-id=\"message-view-body-content\">\n<div class=\"jb_0 X_6MGW N_6Fd5\">\n<div id=\"yiv6482001816\">\n<div>Former Minister of Communication, Adebayo Shittu and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has directed the National Working Committee of the party to punish the former governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun for his continuous threats to stop at nothing to deny the party of victory in the coming election.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Shittu expressed his disappointment in an interview on Monday, describing the former governor\u2019s utterances and anti-party activities as shameful.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am disappointed because he is a practising Muslim. Every practising Muslim should understand that God is supreme and is only one.<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\n\u201dHow can somebody who was in office when an election was held, lost out now claim the election was rigged?<\/div>\n<div>\n\u201cAgainst the party\u2019s interest, he sponsored a candidate on the platform of another party and he was so shameful to claim that the election was rigged?<\/div>\n<div>\n\u201cHe didn\u2019t go to court; he didn\u2019t go to the election tribunal, so he didn\u2019t do the needful.<\/div>\n<div>\n\u201cIt is most unfortunate and I know that what he did was not in the party\u2019s interest and his (Amosun\u2019s) own interest.<\/div>\n<div>\n\u201cTo have the audacity to come out now and say that the election was rigged in favour of a somebody who was not in office during that election.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Weighing in on the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket, the party\u2019s chieftain said APC\u2019s Vice Presidential candidate was not picked on the ground of religion but because he is from another region.<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\n\u201cShettima was not picked as a running mate because he is a Muslim. He was nominated because he came from another region. It will be stupid of anybody who is a candidate, not to do his work if he wants to win an election.<\/div>\n<div>\n\u201cTinubu is not contesting the election for the fun of it. He is an experienced politician; it is his duty which he has done by ensuring that he gets the best running mate who can give him the best votes from his zone.<\/div>\n<div>\n\u201cWe just know that Tinubu who is a Muslim just happens to be a Muslim.
