The PDP National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, has hailed the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, as “a strong party man.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
He accused the ruling APC of using the governor’s name to institute a bogus suit against the the party, describing the desperate action as “criminal.”<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The PDP national chairman spoke today in Abuja during the<\/div>\n
commemoration of the United Nations International Youth Day (IYD) 2022, put together by the Youth Wing of the party.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The event brought together representatives of Nigerian youths from all walks of life and callings.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
While hailing Wike for promptly coming out to dissociate himself from the said suit, Ayu advised party faithful to be wary of APC’s divisive manipulations.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
His words: “His Excellency, Gov. Nyesom Wike never took the party to court. It is the APC that did it. The first name in the case is a coordinator of the presidential candidate of the APC.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“We know very well that they don’t believe they can win any election. They have decided to divide you. But don’t let any APC manipulation divide you.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“They are the ones sponsoring false stories of crisis in PDP. PDP has no crisis. It is a united party.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“Anyone who thinks they can come and brew crises here is deceiving himself. They should wait for us till next year. In February, we will show them that they are the ones with crises.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“I want to make this clear before people start saying: Oh, Wike took the party to court.’\u00a0 Wike is a strong party man.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“And I am happy that he came out immediately to deny that he took the party to court. And very soon, the truth will be revealed because it’s a criminal thing.”<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The well-attended event had in attendance the PDP Presidential Candidate, HE Atiku Abubakar; and other members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), including the National Youth Leader, Alh. Muhammed Suleiman.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
All speakers harped on the imperative of rescuing the country, Come 2023, and restoring Nigeria to her glory.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The International Youth Day (IYD) is an awareness day set aside\u00a0 by the United Nations. It was first observed on 12th August, 2000.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Its goal is to continually beam the searchlight on the\u00a0 cultural and legal issues affecting the global youth.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
