{"id":98095,"date":"2022-08-14T18:08:00","date_gmt":"2022-08-14T17:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=98095"},"modified":"2022-08-14T18:08:00","modified_gmt":"2022-08-14T17:08:00","slug":"gunmen-abduct-catholic-priest-in-abia-demand-n50m-ransom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/gunmen-abduct-catholic-priest-in-abia-demand-n50m-ransom\/","title":{"rendered":"Gunmen abduct Catholic priest in Abia, demand N50m ransom"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1741150957217490201\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Less than a week after the abduction of the Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) of Isuochi Police Division, DSP Dickson, the bandits have kidnapped a Catholic priest, identified as Reverend Father Chinedu Nwadike, along the Okigwe \u2013 Enugu expressway in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0Pointblanknews.com gathered\u00a0 that the priest who is also the Deputy Registrar of Spiritan University Nneochi, (SUN), was abducted alongside a seminarian on their way to Enugu for an official assignment.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The sources further stated that the kidnappers have contacted the school demanding N50bm ransom for his release.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cReverend Father Nwadike was kidnapped a few minutes after he left the school on his way to Enugu for an official assignment with a seminarian. He was kidnapped along the Okigwe \u2013Enugu expressway in Umunneochi LGA. Now his abductors are demanding N50m ransom. We are pleading with them to release him unhurt because we don\u2019t know where we can get such a huge amount they are demanding. The state and federal government should do something drastic about the security situation in Umunneochi . Everybody is afraid of travelling.
