{"id":98120,"date":"2022-08-14T21:00:14","date_gmt":"2022-08-14T20:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=98120"},"modified":"2022-08-14T21:00:14","modified_gmt":"2022-08-14T20:00:14","slug":"nans-mobilises-for-nlcs-nationwide-strike-over-asuu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/nans-mobilises-for-nlcs-nationwide-strike-over-asuu\/","title":{"rendered":"NANS mobilises for NLC\u2019s nationwide strike over ASUU"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has commenced mobilisation in preparation for a nationwide strike by the Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC) over the failure of the Federal Government to reach an agreement with the Academic Staff Union of Universities.<\/p>\n<p>The students\u2019 body said it would join forces with the labour centres comprising the NLC and Trade Union Congress until the Federal Government reached an agreement with the<\/p>\n<p>NANS position was contained in a communiqu\u00e9 jointly signed by Comrade Adegboye Olatunji, Coordinator, NANS Zone D, Comrade Kehinde Damilola, Chairman NANS Ogun, Comrade Adeleke Quadri, Chairman NANS Oyo, and Comrade Omotosho Surprise, Chairman NANS Ondo, issued at the end of an emergency meeting of South West students leaders and stakeholders held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.<\/p>\n<p>The emergency meeting attended by the Students Union Government (SUG) Presidents and other present and former leaders of NANS from Zone D, deliberated on critical issues affecting the students constituency in particular and the entire masses of Nigeria.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nThe union condemned the government for treating the strike by university lecturers with levity, urging the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu to ensure the strike was called off without delay.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe frown totally at the Federal Government\u2019s lackadaisical attitude towards the sector especially by treating the strike action of University staff Unions with levity.&#8221;<\/p><\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has commenced mobilisation in preparation for a nationwide strike by the Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC) over the failure of the Federal Government to reach&hellip;<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":98121,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-98120","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
