{"id":98156,"date":"2022-08-15T07:55:04","date_gmt":"2022-08-15T06:55:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=98156"},"modified":"2022-08-15T07:55:04","modified_gmt":"2022-08-15T06:55:04","slug":"failed-primaries-buhari-reappoints-media-aide-bashir-ahmad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/failed-primaries-buhari-reappoints-media-aide-bashir-ahmad\/","title":{"rendered":"Failed Primaries: Buhari Reappoints Media Aide, Bashir Ahmad"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed his former Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, as Special Assistant to the President on Digital Communications.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>This was made known via a letter of appointment issued and addressed to Ahmad by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Mustapaha, in a letter dated July 20, 2022, said the appointment took effect from July 19, 2022.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Ahmad had resigned his previous position as Personal Assistant to the President in line with the Buhari\u2019s directive urging all political office holders wishing to contest elective office to resign.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The presidential media aide lost his bid to secure the ticket of the All Progressives Congress at the party\u2019s primaries for Gaya, Ajingi, Albasu Federal Constituency, Kano State.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Ahmad had frowned at the way and manner the party\u2019s primary was conducted, saying it was fraught with fraud.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The presidential social media handler is believed to be the only presidential aide recalled by Buhari since the conclusion of the APC primaries.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>All the cabinet ministers and presidential aides except Bashir Ahmad, who resigned to participate in the APC primaries but failed to secure the party tickets had since been replaced by the President.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed his former Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, as Special Assistant to the President on Digital Communications.
