{"id":98255,"date":"2022-08-17T10:26:01","date_gmt":"2022-08-17T09:26:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=98255"},"modified":"2022-08-17T10:26:01","modified_gmt":"2022-08-17T09:26:01","slug":"kogi-poly-expels-171-students-for-poor-performance-theft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/other-news\/kogi-poly-expels-171-students-for-poor-performance-theft\/","title":{"rendered":"Kogi Poly Expels 171 Students For Poor Performance, Theft"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>No fewer than 171 students of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja have been expelled for various misdemeanours and poor academic performance.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The management of the polytechnic said 168 students were expelled for poor academic performance while three students were expelled for theft and impersonation during examinations in the first semester of 2021\/2022 academic session.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Head, Public Relations and Protocol Unit, Uredo Omale, in a statement said: \u201cThe expulsion of the 171 students was approved by the institution\u2019s Academic Board in its meeting held on July 28.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cThe board also approved the exoneration of three students earlier accused of involvement in different examination misconducts.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cThe three students exonerated are Johnson Lydia-Odunayo of the Department of Public Administration, Balogun Afeez Tolani and John Timothy both of the Department of Business Administration.\u201d<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Osinbajo: We\u2019ve spent N119bn to battle COVID-19, economy<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Omale explained that the board of the institution took the decision after considering the report of the Central Examination Misconduct Committee.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>She said the Board had already directed the suspended results of the three exonerated students be processed immediately and forwarded for express approval.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>According to her, the board Chairman and Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Salisu Ogbo-Usman, admonishes students to be law-abiding as they resume for the Second Semester, 2021\/2022 Academic Session.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cHenceforth, no stone would be left unturned in ensuring absolute compliance with the law and order in and around the campuses of the polytechnic.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cWhile commending members of the board for their support, the rector said that academic excellence would be sustained in the institution,\u201d Omale said.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>No fewer than 171 students of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja have been expelled for various misdemeanours and poor academic performance.
