{"id":98765,"date":"2022-08-31T05:56:37","date_gmt":"2022-08-31T04:56:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=98765"},"modified":"2022-08-31T05:56:37","modified_gmt":"2022-08-31T04:56:37","slug":"tinubu-shettima-apc-govs-meet-with-jonathan-seek-his-support","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/tinubu-shettima-apc-govs-meet-with-jonathan-seek-his-support\/","title":{"rendered":"Tinubu, Shettima, APC Govs meet with Jonathan, seek his support"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">The presidential flag bearer of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in continuation of his nationwide consultation with critical stakeholders on Tuesday night met with former President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He was accompanied by his running mate, Senator Kassim Shetimma and five APC governors.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The brief meeting which was held at the residence of former President Jonathan gave the leaders the opportunity to discuss various national issues and the forthcoming general election.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Details of their meeting were not made public.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Breezing out of the meeting Asiwaju simply said, he was on a courtesy visit to the former President being a former leader and one of the critical stakeholders in the Nigerian project. He also said he told him of his presidential ambition and to seek the support of his host.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Those on the entourage of Tinubu include his running mate, Shetimma, the director-general of his campaign council and governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, Ogun state governor, and Dapo Abiodun, Zamfara State governor. Bello Matawale, Jigawa State governor, Abubakar Badaru and their Kwara State counterpart AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">A source at the meeting said the meeting was part of efforts by the APC standard bearer to get the buying in of all critical stakeholders to his presidential ambition.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">According to the source, &#8220;Truly, he (Jonathan) is at home with us. He was very receptive to us. You know the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) no longer accorded him that respect. He is more comfortable with us. He was happy that Asiwaju visited him.
