Borno political atmosphere is once again charged following alleged clandestine plans by Governor Kashim Shettima to unseat his Deputy Alhaji Zanna Umar Mustapha over his cozy immediate past governor Ali Modu Sheriff Pointblanknews.com has gathered.<\/p>\n
Another plan by Governor Shettima according to government house source is to reshuffle his cabinet and send parking all former Governor Ali Modu Sheriff’s loyalists who are perceived as obstacle to the Governor’s re-election bid in 2015<\/p>\n
Also, some commissioners who are said to have acquired choice properties worth between three and four hundred million naira in different parts of the country may be shown the way out and subsequently investigated by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)<\/p>\n
Already, some people were allegedly mobilized by the Governor to stage a kangaroo press conference calling for the replacement of the Deputy governor as running mate ahead of 2015 governorship election.<\/p>\n
The purported press conference, which took place in Abuja, was said to have been mastermind by a very close aid to Governor Shettima who wasted no time to carry out the immediate instruction of his boss.<\/p>\n
Besides, insides source revealed that the ultimate plan of the Governor who seems to have bowed to pressure from political- hangers- on is to ensure the impeachment of the Deputy Governor before the end of the current administration and bring on board the current commissioner for Religious Affairs Hon. Usman Mamman Durkwa.<\/p>\n
A member of the state Assembly hinted, “some principal officers of the House have since been contacted with a view to commencing an impeachment process against the Deputy Governor”<\/p>\n
According to the Legislator “most members of the Borno state House of Assembly are aware that the former Deputy Governor of Taraba State was impeached after the legislators received N35Million each from the executive, so if same gesture is extended to us we may have to do same”<\/p>\n
Pointblanknews.com also gathered that former Governor Ali Sheriff is not leaving anything to chance as he was said to have perfected plans to ensure that the Deputy Governor is not impeached. In fact sources are of the opinion that Sheriff is set to shower millions of dollars on the Lawmakers to abort any impeachment move.<\/p>\n
“I think Governor Shettima is being misled by political jobbers or else why would he now decide to work against his Deputy just because of his being close to former Governor Sheriff who brought the both of them into office? I bet you rather than the Deputy being impeached I bet you, Governor Shettima may be the person to lose his seat,” one of the Special advisers to Shettima said.<\/p>\n
The Special adviser revealed that Sheriff was instrumental to election most of the state legislators election in 2011 and have also met with some members of Assembly when he came to the state last week.” I was reliably informed that Sheriff has commence moves to impeach Shettima but I only pray that this issue will be resolve amicably and status quo maintained”.<\/p>\n
For now political actors from the Deputy governor’s constituency are putting heads together with a view to passing a vote of confidence on the Deputy governor Alh. Zanna Umar Mustapha.<\/p>\n
