{"id":99248,"date":"2022-09-15T09:35:30","date_gmt":"2022-09-15T08:35:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=99248"},"modified":"2022-09-15T09:35:30","modified_gmt":"2022-09-15T08:35:30","slug":"ekweremadus-health-uk-police-judicial-office-engage-in-buck-passing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/ekweremadus-health-uk-police-judicial-office-engage-in-buck-passing\/","title":{"rendered":"Ekweremadu\u2019s Health: UK Police, Judicial Office Engage In Buck Passing\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Authorities in the United Kingdom (UK) appear to be evasive over the reported health status of former Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, who is currently in detention while facing charges of alleged organ harvesting in the UK.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ekweremadu\u2019s daughter, Sonia, had through her verified instagram page on Monday, revealed that her father has been \u201cdiagnosed with acute kidney damage while being incarcerated in London.\u201d<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">London Metropolitan Police through Pete Davey, from the Press Bureau of the Directorate of Media and Communications, Metropolitan Police Service, declined comments on the matter and referred enquiry to the UK Ministry of Justice even as he sounded less optimistic about any response from there.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThis would be for the Ministry of Justice, though I\u2019d suggest they\u2019d be unlikely to discuss a person\u2019s medical situation with you.\u201d they said<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The press officer of the Judicial Office in London, Jonathan Irwin, also offered no help but rather referred the matter back to the Metropolitan Police and or the Crown Prosecution Service.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;This is not something the Judicial Office can help you with, I\u2019m afraid. I\u2019d advise you to contact the Metropolitan Police and\/or the Crown Prosecution Service, who may be able to help,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">In June Ekweremadu, and his wife Beatrice were arrested in London and charged with conspiracy to allegedly traffic a child to the United Kingdom in order to harvest his organs. It was later discovered that the alleged victim of the organ harvest was 21-year-old David Ukpo, according to official records from the Nigerian authorities.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ekweremadu\u2019s wife has since been released but the lawmaker\u2019s request for bail has been turned down by the Westminster Magistrate Court.
