United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc in collaboration with MoneyGram International has donated a fully branded children playroom and center for the Pediatric ward of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH).<\/p>\n
The donation which is in commemoration of 15 years of robust relationship between UBA Plc and MoneyGram International was undertaken to boost health delivery in Nigeria and in line with plans to execute hospital based Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects in four regions namely Lagos, Ibadan, Benin and Owerri.\u00a0 Only recently UBA in conjunction with MoneyGram International donated a fully branded cr\u00e8che to the Oncology Pediatric ward of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) in Nigeria.<\/p>\n
While taking delivery of the play center, the Chief Medical Director, University of Benin, Professor Michael Ibadin commended UBA and MoneyGram for the donation adding that \u201cthe relationship between UBTH and UBA had come a long way and dates back to the 80s when other banks were having their branches located around the popular Akpakpava and Ring road; UBA was the only bank that came toward UBTH. As a result of that we have very good relationship and we have worked very well since then and will continue to sustain the partnership.\u201d<\/p>\n
Director, Consumer Banking Group, UBA Plc, Mr Owoeye Ilesanmi who led the UBA team said: \u201cUBA will continue to nurture the relationship with UBTH with excellent professional services and necessary support towards achieving the hospital\u2019s goal of providing quality health care to Nigerians\u201d<\/p>\n
UBA has from inception been supportive of the teaching hospital. Some of the past CSR initiatives that have been carried out by UBA in the institution include the donation of computers, N25m for the establishment of a Cardiac center and the development of a payroll solution at no cost for UBTH said the Regional Bank Head, Midwest, UBA Plc, Mrs. Joan Abolo at the occasion.<\/p>\n
