{"id":99651,"date":"2022-09-24T22:32:31","date_gmt":"2022-09-24T21:32:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=99651"},"modified":"2022-09-24T22:32:31","modified_gmt":"2022-09-24T21:32:31","slug":"contempt-abia-cp-ehiemere-risk-jail-over-violation-of-court-order","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/other-news\/contempt-abia-cp-ehiemere-risk-jail-over-violation-of-court-order\/","title":{"rendered":"Contempt: Abia CP, Ehiemere risk jail over violation of court order"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">Abia State Commissioner of Police, Mrs Janet Agbede and the former chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia state, Mr. Augustine Ehiemere are facing contempt of court charges over violation of a judgment of the Court of Appeal, Owerri.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Court of Appeal, Owerri, had on April 7, 2022, declared Prince Nnanna Ukaegbu as the authentic chairman of APGA in Abia state.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">However, the defendants; Agbede, Ehiemere and Adike , had allegedly refused to comply with the order. Ukaegbu had filed a suit at the state High court claiming that the Commissioner of Police, Ehiemere and Adike, has failed to obey the order of the court by refusing to recognize him as the chairman of the party<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Following the disobedience of the order, a High court sitting in Umuahia,\u00a0 Abia State, has ordered that notice of contempt of court, (Form 48), be served on the Abia State Commissioner of Police, Mrs Janet Agbede; Rev. Augustine Ehiemere and a Superintendent of Police, Robert Adike, and Mr. Sunday Onukwubiri, over alleged violation of the order.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">In suit No; HU\/229\/2022 between Prince Nnanna Ukaegbu (claimant) and Augustine Ehiemere, Commissioner of Police, Abia State and Sup.
