{"id":99725,"date":"2022-09-27T13:54:59","date_gmt":"2022-09-27T12:54:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=99725"},"modified":"2022-09-27T13:54:59","modified_gmt":"2022-09-27T12:54:59","slug":"tcn-restores-national-power-grid-after-partial-system-collapse","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/tcn-restores-national-power-grid-after-partial-system-collapse\/","title":{"rendered":"TCN Restores National Power Grid After Partial System Collapse"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has confirmed that the national grid experienced partial system disturbance at about 10.51am Monday, 26th, September 2022.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>This was contained in a statement issued by Ndidi Mbah TCN, General Manager (Public Affairs).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The statement said the incident was a result of a sudden drop in system frequency, which created system instability.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u2018\u2019The restoration of the affected part of the grid commenced immediately at 11.55am with Osogbo\/Ihovbor back to the grid followed by Jebba\/Osogbo, Kainji\/Jebba, Benin\/Onisha, Shiroro\/Kaduna, Shiroro\/Katampe, and Alaoji\/Ikot-Ekpene. Others are Lokoja\/Gwagwalada, Odukpani\/Ikot Ekpene, Benin\/Omotosho, Oke-Aro\/Ikeja west, Egbin\/Oke-Aro and Kaduna\/Kano,\u2019\u2019 the statement said.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>According to the statement, the National Control Centre (NCC) said a full-scale investigation is being conducted to establish and ascertain the cause of the partial disturbance as this unwholesome event has resulted in aggregated generation loss.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>It however said the grid restoration is almost completed and the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI) regrets any inconveniences caused and appreciates the kind understanding of electricity consumers within and outside the country.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>We are committed to leveraging the concerted interventions instituted so far to enhance power supply reliability so that the issue of system disturbance will soon become outdated.<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has confirmed that the national grid experienced partial system disturbance at about 10.51am Monday, 26th, September 2022.
