{"id":99769,"date":"2022-09-28T13:22:39","date_gmt":"2022-09-28T12:22:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=99769"},"modified":"2022-09-28T13:22:39","modified_gmt":"2022-09-28T12:22:39","slug":"breaking-court-declares-machina-winner-of-yobe-north-apc-senatorial-primary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/breaking-court-declares-machina-winner-of-yobe-north-apc-senatorial-primary\/","title":{"rendered":"BREAKING: Court Declares Machina, Winner of Yobe North APC Senatorial\u00a0Primary"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1745214886741603167\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">A Federal High Court sitting in Damaturu, Yobe State today September 28, affirmed Mr. Bashir Machina, as the authentic candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the Yobe North Senatorial District.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nJustice Fadima Aminu, delivered the verdict in Damaturu, the state capital on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The Federal High Court declared that Bashir Sheriff Machina remained the APC\u2019s authentic senatorial candidate for Yobe North in the forthcoming 2023 National Assembly elections.<\/p>\n<p>The Judge then directed INEC to accept and publish his name accordingly.<\/p>\n<p>In her verdict today, the Judge affirmed Machina as the duly and validly elected Yobe North senatorial candidate for APC thereby upholding the May 28 primary election of the Party that produced him.<\/p>\n<p>She had earlier reserved judgement on the tussle regarding the senatorial ticket after a heated argument between counsels to the plaintiff and the defendants on September 25.<\/p>\n<p>Machina emerged the winner of the primary election supervised by INEC officials. The senate president did not participate in the primary election.<\/p>\n<p>The suit was filed by the winner of the All Progressives Congress\u2019 senatorial primary election for Yobe North, Bashir Machina.<\/p>\n<p>He filed the suit against the APC, Independent National Electoral Commission and the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan regards the primary election held on May 28, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Machina is asking the court to declare him as the authentic senatorial candidate of the APC for the 2023 election.<\/p>\n<p>With the new development, his fate will be determined on Wednesday by the court.<\/p>\n<p>Lawan is currently locked in battle with Machina for the ticket.<\/p>\n<p>Machina emerged the winner of the primary election supervised by INEC officials.
