{"id":99975,"date":"2022-10-04T21:21:20","date_gmt":"2022-10-04T20:21:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=99975"},"modified":"2022-10-04T21:21:20","modified_gmt":"2022-10-04T20:21:20","slug":"kogi-assembly-shuts-dangote-cement-over-ownership-status","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/kogi-assembly-shuts-dangote-cement-over-ownership-status\/","title":{"rendered":"Kogi Assembly shuts Dangote Cement over ownership status"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">In its bid to ascertain the true ownership of Dangote Cement Company situated at Obajana in Kogi State, the State House of Assembly has resolved to close it down pending the when relevant documents that transferred sole ownership to Aligo Dangote are presented to it.<\/p>\n<p>The State House of Assembly also wants to know the considerations given to the state during the signing of an agreement between the company and the state.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nThese considerations included the ten percent shares of Kogi State in the company, the social responsibilities of the company to the state and other benefits.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nThis was part of the resolutions of the House after the consideration of the ad-hoc committee\u2019s interim report by Hon Isah Tenimu.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nThe House also directed the Commissioner of Police and the State Commandant of Civil Defence Corps as well as Head of Vigilante Group in the state to ensure that the resolution was enforced.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nThe External Solicitor of Dangote Cement Company, Mr Leeman Salihu had submitted some documents which are Certificate of Incorporation and that of an agreement signed in 2002 and 2003 but craved the indulgence of the House to allow further talk on the issue to be out of public glare.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nHe pleaded that the House should allow the company engage in further conversation with it and the state economic team which was declined.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nThe House insisted that Kogi State Cement company could not have been transferred to Obajana Cement Company and then Dangote Cement Company 100 percent without any considerations.<\/p>\n<div class=\"yj6qo\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"adL\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In its bid to ascertain the true ownership of Dangote Cement Company situated at Obajana in Kogi State, the State House of Assembly has resolved to close it down pending&hellip;<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":99976,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-99975","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
