USA group supports Ondo Stagte health care services with N10million medical materials
The effort of the present administration in Ondo state to boost healthcare
delivery system on Wednesdy received the blesssing of a United |States
of American based group, the African Business Owners Forun which
donation of drugs and materials worth over 10million to the state
specialist hospitals in Ondo and Akure by African Business Owners
Forum
Incorporated based in the USA . The group aimed at treating patients
suffering from hypertension, diabetes mellitus and cancer.
Speaking at a program for mass campaign against hypertension and diabetes
mellitus at the State Specialist Hospital in Akure, the state governor, Dr
Olusegun Mimiko described the zeal by the US based medical experts offer free
medical services to over 1000 patients and to partner with his
administration to
improve on the health quality of the people as symbolic.
Dr Mimiko, who appreciated the act of patriotism displayed by the group,
whose
membership is not only from the state for leveraging on their expertise and
connection to donate the drugs for improved healthcare delivery system in the
state, howver reiterated his administration’s determination to provide
quality
healthcare services to the people wherever they reside in the state.
‘His words ‘we in government appreciate your concern to the healthcare of our
people. I must let you know that the present government in Ondo state is
determined to provide quality healthcare to our people. This is what we have
doing we came on board’.
‘We must also appreciate your patriotism. This is what we need to move our
society forward. If we Nigerians continue to exhibit that act of patriotism,
this nation will continue to move forward’ said the governor.
In her remarks, the head of the medical team, Dr (Mrs) Olabisi Jagun, a
Nephrologist from the USA, explained that the gesture was due to the group’s
appreciation of the vision and passion of Dr Mimiko’s administration to add
value to the health needs of the people.
Dr Jagun stated further that they were moved by the governor’s
presentation of
his health agenda for the people of the state during his recent
official trip to
the US, adding that the free medical services and the donation were meant to
support him.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the medical mission team, Mr Frank Akinkoye,
commended the governor for packaging the state for global attention,
adding that
most Nigerians in the Diaspora are now willing to join him in transforming
the
state. |
