South-West Governors adopt Jonathan in Ibadan...Obasanjo says Jonathan will win

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Governors in the South West, today in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, adopted Pressident Goodluck Jonathan as its candidate for next years presidential election.

Present at Saturday's meeting , which commenced around 12 noon, were Speaker Dimeji Bankole, Senate Leader, Teslim, Folarin, Olusegun Agagu( Ondo), Alao Akala ( Oyo), Segun Oni ( Ekiti ) and Ogun's Gbenga Daniel.

Pointblanknews.com learnt that the meeting was facilitated by Ex President Olusegun Obasanjo.

The meeting which held at the Parliament building in the Government House, Ibadan lasted for about three hours and was attended by all the Governors.

Our source at the meeting said the motion for adoption was moved by the Ekiti State PDP chairman, Bola Olu-Ojo.

It was learnt that all the Governors at the meeting made sterling remarks about Jonathan except for Osun State Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, who was nuanced during his speech.

Pointblanknews.com source also hinted that it was Obsanjo who ensured the likes of Daniel, and Oyinlola, dump Gen. Ibrahim Babangida for Jonathan.

The communique which was read by South West zonal chairman, Tajudeen Oladipupo, said all the Governors have agreed to deliver votes to Jonathan at the rimaries and general election.

Obasanjo in his remark, said considering the qualities of Jonathan, 'head or tail he will, but it wont be easy"
