Airtel Nigeria Announces Winners in MAMAs Trivia Promo
*Customers Win N63m, Complimentary Airtime, Nokia Phones & MAMAs VIP Tickets
Lagos, Nigeria– December 3 2010: Airtel Nigeria has announced the first batch winners in the on-going MTV Music Awards with Airtel (MAMAs) Trivia Promo, an interactive SMS-based offer designed to excite and reward youths, the young-at-hearts and telecoms consumers across the country.
The promo, which is a run-up to the 2010 MTV Africa Music Awards with Airtel, offers a grand prize of $10, 000 USD (Ten Thousand United States Dollars) and MAMAs VIP Tickets for two.
At a draw held last weekend at the corporate headquarters of Airtel Nigeria, seven customers emerged winners of cash prizes of $6,000.00 USD (Six Thousand United States Dollars) while 20 customers emerged winners of Nokia phones.
An additional eight customers also won the MAMAs VIP tickets just as the draw produced 14 winners of complimentary airtime. Each of the winners of complimentary airtime will be credited with N20, 000.00 worth of airtime.
Cash prize winners in the draw that was supervised by leading system audit specialist, TCQA include Mr. Ifeanyi Ahuzuru, a plastic trader resident in Ondo State; Mrs. Zudaida Audu, a Katsina based Tailor; Mr. Shadrach Anor, a student of Government Secondary School, Calabar and Mr. Lawal Lukeman, a 35 year old resident of Ikorodu, Lagos.
Some winners of MAMAs VIP tickets include Mrs. Temidayo Owolabi, a trader in Oyo State and Miss Victoria Daniel, a student of Livingstone Secondary School, Otukpo, Benue.
When officials of Airtel Nigeria contacted the winners, many were happy with their winnings, commending the company for creating an exciting entertainment platform for telecoms consumers across the country to watch and mingle with musical icons in Africa and beyond.
Specifically, Victoria Daniel of Livingstone Secondary School in Benue said her MAMAs VIP ticket will grant her access to many privileges during the show as she will be able to see many of her musical icons perform and interact live, saying the MAMAs VIP experience opportunity does not happen often.
She thanked Airtel for the opportunity, urging the telco operator to continue delighting its customers with more exciting and innovative programmes.
The MAMAs Trivia promo, which commences on November 16, 2010, will run for 23 days, culminating on the 8 th of December 2010.
According to Chief Marketing Officer, George Andah, to participate in the offer, customers are expected to send their names to the short code, 6262. For every SMS a customer sends, he/she receives a reply and another question. The reply will indicate whether the customer’s answer was correct and also informs him/her of his/her cumulative number of points (known as VIP ranks). For every correct answer, customer receives more points than when he answers incorrectly. Each SMS cost N100.
He said Customers stand the chance to win exciting prizes including USD6000 daily and the grand prize of USD10, 000 including VIP tickets for two to the MAMAs ceremony at the Eko Hotel on December 11, 2010. Other prizes include Nokia handsets, VIP tickets to the MAMAS and N20, 000 worth of complimentary airtime for two people daily.
