Fresh facts have emerged as to how the large scale fraud perpetrated by former Osun state Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP), in the last elections , was exposed by the crack team of British forensic experts who worked with the legal team of the new helmsman, Rauf Aregbesola, of the Action Congress of Nigeria (AC N),

It was also gathered that a top chieftain of the PDP in the state, Yemi Faroumbi, lied under oath while testifying. He claimed to have voted in his local council area, and that the poll was free and fair. But his name was missing on the voters register.

Pointblanknews.Com sources hinted that the Aregbesola legal team , in collaboration with more than 50 forensic experts knocked holes in the judgment of the lowers court which upheld Oyinlola’s election.

According to our source, the team analyzed no fewer than 240,000 ballot papers used at that election determined to be fraudulent by the Court of Appeal. The experts analyses of ballot papers proved that there were 41 per cent cases of multiple thumb printing, while 18 per cent was ‘not analyzable’.

The fraud which was prominent across 10 local councils won by Oyinlola .

Pointblanknews.com also learnt that three tests were done on the 240,000 ballot papers used used at all the voting centers. The conclusion of the experts was that large slice of the ballot papers were not used were they were allocated. Form EC40c shows the units, serial numbers and number of units allocated. They did not match.

Our source said the forensic experts who spent over six months on ballot paper, and thumb print analyses, and applied new trend in evidence collection for election petitions, also determined that serial numbers from a single booklet, were used in 30 units.

The experts who established large scale ballot box stuffing also revealed that signatures and stamps on several forms did not match those of returning officers at those units.

For instance at Boripe local Government area of the state, form EC8d showed that Oyinlola got 14,000 votes , while number of registered voters on same document was 12,000. At Ife Central, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), scribe in the area, one Alhaji S.O Nafiu signed as returning officer in 9 wards. At Isokan, an ex-commissioner, Taofeek Makinde, testified that the election was fair, and that he signed the INEC form EC8c. However, the results certified by INEC revealed that another chieftain, A.L Olanusi signed.

A top member of the Aregbesola ‘s legal think tank, Ajibola Bashiru, confirmed our findings in a chat with Pointblanknews.com in Oshogbo, the state capital.

According to him, “ The British forensic experts who collaborated with us did a great job, to expose the large scale fraud perpetrated by Oyinlola. We took apart the judgment of the lower court. We faulted almost every page of the judgment. We used the new trend in evidence for petitions. At the end of our work, I was convinced the judgment would be in our favor”
