Abia honours Okonjo Iwuala, Kanu Nwankwo basket mouth, others

World Bank managing Director Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo Iwuala, DIGs Azukoko Udah, Ivy Okoronkwo, and Mrs Rose Uzoma Comptroller General of Nigeria custom service are among Abia State prominent indigenes that were honoured in the 1 st Abia Honours and Award Night slated for this Friday at Okpara auditorium Umuahia, Abia State.

In a statement by the adviser to Abia Governor on Electronic Media Ugochukwu Emezue, Abia State government decided to honour its Sons and daughters who have excelled in their chosen careers.

According to Mr. Emezue, Chief T. A. Orji who hosted the event, He believes that by recognising prominent indigenes of the State who have made their mark in their various assignments, it will go a long way to give them a sense of belonging.

 

Apart from serving as a source of encouragement to them, it will inspire them to go the extra mile to ensure that the state benefit from their wealth of experience and talent.

Others who were honoured include Aruma Oteh DG security and exchange commission, Chief Emeka Nwogu Minister of Labour and productivity, Ambassador Empire Kanu, and Kanu Nwankwo.

Notable stars in the entertainment industry celebrated that day include Ejike Asiegbu, Chinedu Ikedieze(Aki), Emeka Enyiocha, Uche Jumbo, Nkeiru Okechukwu, Bright Okpocha (Basket mouth) Ruggedman, Okechukwu Ukeje NiggaRaw and among others.

Some of the awardees who are musicians entertained quests that day.
