Accord Party will change Oyo for good -Ladoja
Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja has expressed his gratitude to the people of Oyo state for trooping out in large numbers for the launching of the South West campaign rally of the ACCORD that took place at Mapo Hall. He stated that the large crowd clearly demonstrated that the people of the state have accepted ACCORD and his candidacy as the governor of Oyo state in the April 16, 2011 election.
He stated that such a large crowd was last witnessed at Mapo in 1983 when the late sage Chief Obafemi Awolowo held a rally under the platform of Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) for his presidential ambition. The ACCORD governorship candidate said that despite the harassment, intimidation and threat of bomb scare at the venue, the rally still went against the wish of those opposed to the enthronement of good governance.
The ACCORD flag bearer in the April, 2011 general elections said that the large turnout of people is an indication that ACCORD has come to bring about good governance in Oyo state. He asked the people of the state to disregard the Akala led government who despite the obvious turnaround of events has continued to peddle lies upon lies.
Senator Ladoja re-affirmed his stand that his achievement and love remains in the heart of the people; adding that no amount of destruction of his billboards and posters by agents of the PDP led administration in the state can change the minds of the people.
The governorship candidate of ACCORD urge people to turn out en mass to cast their votes for all ACCORD candidates and himself for smooth transaction of government business. Senator Ladoja concluded by asking the state government why did they refuse to remove their campaign platform when they were aware that ACCORD was to use the Mapo Hall venue?
