The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State has accused the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) of using thugs to disrupt its electioneering campaigns in the State, saying; “if the trend is not curbed, we might be forced to defend ourselves against these army of political vampire rampaging Ekiti State.”

Chairman of the Publicity Sub-Committee of the Ekiti Central Senatorial District Campaign Committee, Hon. Foluso Adesokan, who made this known in a release issued in Ado-Ekiti today hailed the police for the prompt arrest of one Kareem Agunbiade, who led the thugs.

He said the campaign train was at Aramoko, headquarters of Ekiti West Local Government when the thugs, armed with guns, matchetes, axes and other dangerous weapons attacked the PDP supporters, wounding about ten of them.

He said further that more than 30 minutes after the thugs were dispersed, three vehicles marked in government house numbers invaded Aramoko with thugs, unleashing terror on the people.

Adesokan, who warned the ACN to desist from harassment and intimidation of opposition parties in the State, said no amount of intimidation would save the ACN from defeat in the coming general elections in the State.

“They know that defeat is already staring them in the face. Therefore, they feel the only way out is to intimidation our people but they have failed already because we are prepared for them.

“If they are popular as they always say, why are they afraid of our rallies such that they had to attempt to disrupt it? Or are we the ones that made them to impose Tinubu’s in-laws, concubines and others as candidates of their party such that their own members are not even willing to vote for them?

“Let it be known to them that as we have said before, this time around, we won’t be caught napping. We are prepared for them and if they thing it is thugs that they must use again, we are ready for them,” Adesokan said.
