*Police uncover fresh plot to attack Jos
*Panic grips FCT residents
A bomb explosion in Kaduna State has killed one person leaving two
others severely injured. The blast which took place in Kawu area of
the city center was said to have been planted in residential building.
Also, Police In Plateau State said it had uncovered a fresh plot to
attack Jos, the state capital while the Easter celebration lasts and
vowed to deal “ruthlessly and decisively” with those planning to
unleash another round of violence in the crisis-ridden city.
Security sources in Abuja also hinted Pointblanknews.com that
following the landing in Mararaba, a satellite town, of three trucks
allegedly from Kaduna and Katsina, conveying street urchins popularly
known as Almajiri, soldiers were immediately deployed to the area.
The situation, has, however, provoked widespread panic in the area.
The Kaduna State Police Commissioner, John Haruna, who confirmed the
incident, said Police had cordoned off the area but would not confirm
casualty figure.
The blast is coming on the heels of the post-election violence that
rocked the state leading to the death of hundreds of people in
Southern Kaduna which prompted the Governor Patrick Yakowa-led
government to declare a dusk to dawn curfew.
Following the crisis in the state and some other states in the North,
the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had postponed
gubernatorial elections in Kaduna and Bauchi pending the return of
normalcy.
President Goodluck Jonathan had in the wake of the post-election
violence condemned the dastardly act which claimed the lives of
innocent citizens and members of the National Youth Service Corps
(NYSC) and subsequently constituted a commission of inquiry to look
into the crisis.
