The governor-elect of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has denied membership of the Ogboni Fraternity. He also denied being a ritualist.

Speaking on Sunday at Assumpta Catholic Cathedral Owerri, Owelle Okorocha maintained that no child has died in his schools since inception in 2001.

The governor-elect spoke in response to a directive by Catholic Archbishop of Owerri, the Most Rev Dr. Anthony Obinna that he reacts to allegations of membership of the Ogboni Fraternity and ritual killing of the students in his free secondary education colleges.

Okorocha stated that his wealth was God’s blessings, adding that he comes from a humble family but God has elevated him to be a blessing to others.

He reeled out the allegations that had been levelled against him to include membership of Ogboni Fraternity, using money meant for the less-privileged to run his campaigns and expulsion from University of Jos but stated the most painful of them which made him shed tears was that students die in mysterious circumstances in his colleges.

Okorocha swore with the crucifix, saying that all the allegations were false, adding that he won the election because of people’s love for him.

He pledged to transform Imo State in less than four years. According to him, the welfare of the middle-class will be the major thrust of his administration.
