Imo Speaker impeached, Ohakim's men suspended

Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Chief Goodluck Nana Opiah has been impeached. Opiah was impeachment was followed by the suspension of nine others who are loyalist of disgraced former Governor Ikedi Ohakim.

The former speaker represented Ohaji/Egbema state constituency and was impeached at the Hloor of the House today during a Plenary session shortly after an executive session by the 14 members of the House present.

The impeachment of the Speaker and suspension of members is coming barely 48 hours after the new governor was sworn in.
