Mimiko warns on Cancer
Obviously worried by the rate at which cancer is spreading among women in Ondo State, the wife of the governor, Mrs. Olukemi Mimiko, has urged women in the state to urgently seek free medical attention from the state hospitals.
The governor’s wife made the appeal in Owo town on Wednesday, during the monthly meeting with women in the Owo local government council.
A statement by her Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Julius Alabi, quoted Mrs. Mimiko as saying, “cancer has become the greatest threat to the lives of women all over the world”
She also described cancer, “as a terminal disease that kills both the rich and poor, young and old.”
She told the various women groups that attended the occasion that the effects of the dreaded disease could not be quantified as women are the primary source of moral and educational values in the society.
