Boko Haram: Nigeria May Seek Support of U.S, Israel

Sequel to the suicide bomb that rocked the Police Headquarters in the heart of Abuja, there are strong indications that the Presidency may seek assistance from the United States to crush Boko Haram.

Feelers from the US Embassy indicate that Washington is viewing the latest suicide bomb twist to the menace of Boko Haram with great concern. According to our source, top security personnels at all US Embassies and offices in Nigeria have been put on red alert.

Pointblanknews.com top security source hinted that the Federal Bureau of Investigations( FBI, ) and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA )may be involved in the planned covert operation that will seek to eliminate the Boko Haram Sect.

The Nigeria Govt had signed a security memorandum of understanding with the Governments of the United States and Israel prior to the 2011 elections. The source said the possible presidential request will be entirely in line with the mou's signed with both countries.

Although no date has been set when the request will be officially made. The Source said the request will go to both U.S and Israel and once that is made, in a matter of weeks, operatives of the two countries will be in Nigeria.

Also under consideration by the President according to the Source, is a high level meeting between presidency , top security officials , Emirs and some selected Northern political leaders to brainstorm on the menace of the the Islamic Sect.

The Source said "the Govt is no longer interested in dialogue with the Islamic sect and has vowed to use every power within and outside to crush the group.this is serious and the President would definitely seek outside assistance from the US and Israel. He will also meet with some emirs and top opinion leaders from the north"

The Inspector-General of Police Hafiz Abubakar Ringim, earlier today expressed his displeasure over the suicide bomb attack at the Force Headquarters, Abuja car park.

According to a statement from the Force Headquarters "The unfortunate incident which led to the death of the suicide bomber and a Police traffic warden occurred at about 1100hrs of 16/06/2011 when the suicide bomber vehicle was intercepted and directed to the car park for searching and checking."

"The Traffic Warden who entered the vehicle of the suicide bomber to direct him to the car park was blown off along with him as soon as they got to the car park.

"The IGP wishes a appreciate the efforts of the fire service and the team of armed forces fire service who promptly responded to put off the fire.

The body of the suicide bomber has been recovered and a full investigation has commenced."
