There is a fresh revelation on events that led to the massive bomb blast at the parking lot of the police headquarters in Abuja, last week.

A very top source at Louis Edet House on Monday hinted that the homicidal Boko Haram sect sent a threatening text message to the Inspector General of Police, Hafiz Ringim shortly after he returned from his trip to Borno State.

Pointblank news.com learnt that the text message clearly told the police boss they were coming to get him the next day. The group had been infuriated by Ringim's grandstanding at the palace of the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar El-Kanemi, where he declared war on the sect. He had said " we will leave no stone unturned until the menace of Boko Haram is unravelled...anyone who has information that would lead to the eradication of Boko Haram should come forward"

Boko Haram which means 'western education is sinful,' did not find Ringim's statement funny. So the moment the police boss and his men arrived Abuja later that evening one of his top aides drew his attention to the text message, but to the chagrin of his men, Ringim simply dismissed it with a wave of the hand.

The source who did not want his name in print because of the sensitive nature of the issue told pointblank news.com " a text message came to the IG's phone in the evening when we returned from Maiduguri. His attention was drawn to it but he ignored it ...He just said ' rubbish'"

The source added that " the message was clear it said the IG should get set because they are coming the next morning to get him. We expected oga to put some measures in place concerning the threat but nothing was done, only to make good their threat the following morning. "

Pointblank news.com also learnt that Ringim gave audience to a man yet to be identified, earlier that morning, who claimed he had top level information on Boko Haram. Said the source " the IG said the Maiduguri that whoever has information should come forward, so this guy came. He later followed the convoy to headquarters, where he blew himself up"
