Police, Soldiers clash again in Lagos

Another round of pandemonium was caused in Lagos when Soldiers and Policemen openly engaged in fisticuffs. Reason for the fight between the men in uniform was not immediately known but sources told Pointblanknews.com that it might not be unconnected with a traffic offence caused by a soldier.

In May 2011, Soldiers had killed the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Ibereko, Badagry, Lagos, Mr. Samuel Salihu, and two other officers in the area.

The three senior police officers were said to have embarked upon a peace mission to the Commanding Officer 242 Recce Battalion in Badagry as a result of the alleged killing of a soldier by policemen attached to RRS on May 22. But the three officers were ambushed and killed when leaving the barracks.
