Tribunal upholds Uduaghan's Election, dismisses Ogboru's Petition

The Delta State Election Tribunal has declared that Governor Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan was validly elected during the January 6, 2011 rerun Governorship election.

The Tribunal ruling which caused a wild jubilation in the Uduaghan's camp dismissed a petition filed by the Democratic People's Party, DPP Candidate, Great Ogboru seeking to declare him winner of the rerun election.

Relying on the electoral Act of 2006, the Tribunal declared that after all the forensic scrutiny of the ballot papers, Governor Uduaghan was found to have secured valid majority votes to be declared Governor.

The Tribunal noted that the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, complied fully with the 2006 Electoral Act in conducting the election.
