Ogbulafor: Activist lauds HRJPF

Comrade Chima Williams, the Focal Person Green Alliance Nigeria (GAN), has said that if we stand firm together as active players instead of active onlookers, we can make the change that can stand.

In a congratulatory email sent to the President, the Human Rights, Justice and Peace Foundation, Comrade Chidi Nwosu, over its legal victory in compelling the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to arraign the National Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for corrupt practices, Comrade Williams who is also the Country Focal Person, Green Actors of West Africa (GAWA) stated:

“This is just a manifestation of the YES WE CAN PRINCIPLE!

“If we stand firm together as active players instead of active onlookers, we can make the change that can stand.

“This campaign must not be on Ogbulafor or the criminals from Abia State, it must be sustained against every corrupt person in Nigeria.

“Yesterday the culprits of the anti corruption agencies in Nigeria were the perceived enemies of then President Obasanjo. When his tenure expired, the dragnet turned to his friends and Olabode George of PDP was the biggest catch by President Yar'Adua's EFCC. Bode George was convicted, sentenced and imprisoned. Today its the turn of Yar'Adua's friends to face the poison of the anti corruption agencies under a Jonathan's Presidency hence the well known pillars of the Yar'Adua regime Prince Vincent Ogbulafor and Chief James Onanefe Ibori both big shots of the PDP but not in the good books of Obasanjo and Jonathan are the criminals on the hook.

“Perhaps after  these, it will be the portion of Dame Patience Jonathan and her likes. Remember the likes of El Rufai and Nuhu Ribadu the czars of the Obasanjo administration who has been shown to be themselves involved in some criminal conducts and are on the run! Soon they as Bode George will become heroes because their government in power now!”

“This is Nigeria! However, if we say yes we can! then we can change Nigeria to that of our dreams using the portion prepared by these "carbal" according Sister Dora!”

It should be recalled that the ICPC had failed to act on the outcome of its investigation into allegations of corrupt practices, ranging from obtaining gratification, embezzlement and corrupt enrichment, as contained in its case file with Ref. No. ICPC/P/NC/477/2005/37, levelled against the National Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Vincent Ogbulafor. But as a tireless foe of corruption and other ills that constitute enmity to the open society, the HRJPF proceeded to a Federal High Court, Abuja to obtain an order of mandamus to compel the Commission to arraign Prince Ogbulafor.

Apparently bowing to the judicial pressure mounted on it by the HRJPF, which has distinguished itself as a fighter of high profile anti-corruption cases, the ICPC will be arraigning Prince Ogbulafor at the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja, for corrupt charges, on Monday, April 26, 2010.
