Lagos AC Lauds Fashola Regime for Completion of Itire-Okota Bridge.

On the occasion of the formal opening of the Itire-Okota bridge built by the Lagos State government today, Tuesday, 11 th May 2010, the Lagos State chapter of the Action Congress has congratulated the Lagos State government and urged it not to relent in turning Lagos into the desired state for all Nigerians. It said the party feels  proud of the many achievements of the Fashola administration, which has come to personify the remnant of the lost glories in governance in Nigeria today.

In a release in Lagos, signed by the Lagos State Publicity Secretary of the AC, Joe Igbokwe, the party said the bridge is a very important facility and a wonderful edifice that will work to tremendously ease life for the inhabitants of Lagos and said that Lagos is in for its best times under Fashola. It urges the people ot Lagos to continue to support the AC and the Fashola regime in their joint determination to make Lagos a model among Nigerian states, which every state must emulate in the quest for excellence.

“The Itire-Okota Bridge is a wonderful project borne out of good thinking and a deep understanding of the needs of Lagosians. We see it as a durable effort to better the lives of Lagosians and tackle the perennial traffic gridlocks that afflict that part of Lagos. It is indeed a great fulfillment of the promises Governor Fashola made to the people of the area and adds to the great upliftment Lagos has been experiencing in the past eleven years.

“We cannot over-emphasize the importance of the bridge and the link roads that connect to it to the good people of Lagos. We believe that in the years to come, the people of Lagos will have cause to salute the vision and the ingenuity that produced that masterpiece and various other life-enhancing projects being undertaken by the Fashola regime in Lagos. We want to assure the people of Lagos that both the AC and the Fashola regime will ever remain committed to their welfare and that we shall deliver on our campaign promises to Lagosians.

“By completing the project in record time, Governor Fashola has made a statement to Lagosians that governance if all about keeping faith with the needs of the people and we express our fulfillment with the tremendous support Lagosians continue to give the Fashola regime and the AC. We want the people of Lagos to continue in their massive support for the regime in its avowed intention to take Lagos to great heights.

“We salute the Fashola regime on yet anither laudable landmark added to Lagos and we urge him to continue delivering wonderfully to the people of Lagos State. We urge Lagosians to use the new facility with every sense of responsibility. We want to assure them that more of such giant projects that enhance the lives of Lagosians are underway until we realize the Lagos of our dream, which will be in league of the world’s mega cities.”
