Protection Rights of Journalists of Africa mourns the Late President Umar Musa Yar'Adua

The sad news of death of President Umar Musa Yar’adua was received with deep shock and sorrow by the entire members of Protection Rights of Journalists of Africa.

In this regard, the above mentioned organization would like to express their condolences to the family members and the Federal Republic of Nigeria as a whole.

We pray to God Almighty Allah to give both the family and the entire people of Nigeria to have the fortitude to bear such an irreparable loss. All of us are praying to Almighty Allah to grant his gentle soul eternal rest and above all rest in the bosom of Almighty Allah. The late president has left us like a candle in the wind but his flame still burns in our hearts. He would be remembered by our organization for his liberalism of press freedom in Nigeria.

In addition, the late President was one of the outstanding Presidents in Africa who created an atmosphere of press freedom in Nigeria which was emulated by a surprising number of African Presidents. According to our organization, he has left a legacy to be emulated by present, future or incoming African presidents.

During his few years in office, experience has demonstrated, journalists of all works of life in Nigeria Practised their profession without fear or panic. And Protection Rights of Journalists of Africa so much appreciate such a laudable gesture.

Furthermore, our organization also urges His Excellency President Good luck Jonathan to use all his experience and versatility to courageously complete the unfinished work of his predecessor. We are also praying to Almighty Allah to guide his Excellency, President Good luck Jonathan by giving him long life, success, progress and prosperity  in all his undertakings .

In conclusion, the good name of the late president left behind is better than Silver and Gold. He will be continued to be remembered with affection and love by all the members of Protection Rights Of Journalists of Africa. (Protection des Droits des Journalistes de l’Afrique)
