Conscience Nigeria: Calls for the sack of Inspector General of Police and Director General of State Security Services for embarassing the Nation
Conscience Nigeria, a non-governmental organization with the cardinal objective of promoting good governance, democracy and rule of law. Over the years we have been in the vanguard of this values and ideals.
We address the media with pain as regard the rampaging scourge of incessant kidnapping in the country. The country has witnessed more than 30 prominent cases of kidnapping this year alone and the recent one is very disturbing with the kidnapping of NUJ Lagos chapter chairman Alh.Oba and others. Nigerians have not had it so bad under any Inspector General of police like this before now. what we are witnessing in the nation today is lack of leadership in the police force and this beg for answer because if we cannot guarantee security for the rich and the poor then the nation is at the brink of a failing state as predicted by the U.S.
It is due to the failure of government in providing adequate intelligence on cases like this that we call on our amiable president to sack the police I.G and SSS Director General for failure to curb the menace of insecurity in the nation and unresolved kidnapping in the country in the bid to stop further pain to the families of victims and the nation in the international community.
Lastly, we appeal to Mr. President to urgently look into the unemployed issue of this country if we must have a secure nation. As we all know that the youth of this country are watching and waiting to explode and the time to act is now as 2011 election approaches it might get worse. Please fire the I.G and SSS boss for proper cleansing of our security outfit.
