The Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Chief (Dr) Godswill Obot Akpabio, the Government and people of Akwa Ibom State heartily welcome the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Arc. Namadi Sambo, GCON, their Excellencies, the governors of South South states of Nigeria, their Royal Majesties, the paramount rulers of the South South states, their Highnesses, the other traditional rulers, elder statesmen, distinguished senators and members of the House of Representatives, Speakers and Honourable members of the Houses of Assembly in the zone, senior citizens, opinion leaders and women leaders to Akwa Ibom State - the Land of Promise for the South South Monarchs Forum holding at the Le Meridien Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort, Uyo.

PRESS RELEASE

The Government of Akwa Ibom State is pleased to inform all citizens and residents of the state that the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Arc. Mohammed Namadi Sambo, GCON will arrive the state on Sunday, 12 th September 2010 on a two day working visit. He will be treated a state banquet at Le Meridien Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort in the evening of the same day.

During the visit, the Vice President will on Monday, 13 th September 2010 declare open the South South Monarchs’ Forum at the Le Meridien Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort.

His Excellency, the Vice President is also expected to participate in the South South solidarity rally in support of the President, His Excellency Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR; flag-off the dualization of Aka-Nung Udoe road; inaugurate the multi-million naira firefighting equipment as well as commission the waste management complex in Uyo.

All citizens, residents and friends of Akwa Ibom State are hereby urged to give the number two citizen of our great country a rousing welcome by participating fully in all the events lined up for the visit.

Let us rise in one accord, as usual to give this august visitor his well deserved honour.
