Nigerians are being urged to please wake up on Friday October 1, 2010 between 7am and 8 am EST, 12 Noon to1.00 pm (Nigeria and UK times), to join their faith with those of other dedicated men and women of God across the globe in handing over Nigeria to God for the next 50 years, since too much complacency, materialism and selfish ambitions had robbed the land of the joy and prosperity of the last 50 years.
"We cannot afford to waste another fifty (50) years and without prayers, Nigeria is done for", lamented Janet Fashakin, a practicing attorney in New York who successfully organized a similar program last month for Ijesaland her town of birth in Osun state.
Many Nigerian Pastors and churches home and abroad are participating. The brains behind the program are:
Pastor Solomon Oyeleke (CAC Mount Vernon, Bronx, NY, USA) and Pastor Lanre Famodimu (Absolute Faith in Jesus International Church, Brooklyn, USA) others are Pastor Segun Ayodele...Transcontinental Trinity Ambassador Min., Florida, USA, Rev.Amos Oyewale...Preach The Word International Church, Houston, TX, USA; Pastor & Pastor (Mrs) Sam Olagunju...Bible Faith Ministry Brooklyn, NY, Pastor Isaiah Olufemi Oyekunle...The Apostolic Church, Maiduguri, Nigeria, Rev. Adeyemi Adegbokun...Lagos, Nigeria, Rev. & Mrs. Henry Emmanuel- End-Time Lord's Army Ministry Intl. U K, Rev Samuel Faremi...Ibadan, Nigeria, Pastor Taiwo Aderemi…Foursquare Gospel Church, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, Pastor Amos Akande… Gospel Faith Mission, Osogbo, Nigeria, Pastor Bayo Yusuff, Mercyland Ministries Internation, UK and Nigeria, Pastor Olusola Fabunmi, Texas, Pastor Olukayode Babalola- RCCOG (House of Favor), Westbury, NY, USA and others.
According to Fashakin, "the politicians have failed the country, so has the military and the educated ones have not fared any better. Many so called ministers of God preach prosperity instead of repentance and have made themselves part of the problems. The blood of the innocents cry for vengeance and the land is heading for a total collapse. But God is not done with Nigeria yet", she said.
She quoted 2nd Chronicles 7:14 to support her clarion call for global fasting and praying that "if my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
She also said that Nigerians can secure the future of Nigeria by realizing that the kind of spirits that has plagued their land from its inception do not go out but by prayer and fasting just as Jesus said in Mathew 17:21
She urged Nigerians to call into the Teleconference from where ever they are, even if they are on their jogging route, or on their bed, or heading to the Independence parade.
Drastic problem calls for drastic solution and prayers will fix it, she says.
