Why Kano Emirate upgrades Shekarau -Kano Emir

The Emir of Kano,Alhaji (Dr.) Ado Bayero has described the immediate past Governor of Kano State, Malam Ibrahim Shekaraua as a great achiever whose performance could hardly be matched.

The Emir stated this when he received a delegation of friends and supporters of Sardaunan Kano led by Alhaji Hamza Usman Darma in his palace on Tuesday.

He said, as a Governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau has done so much towards the upliftment of Islam and the social life of Kano people.  This landmark achievement by the Sardauna was what prompted the Kano Emirate to appoint him as a member of the Kano Emirate so that he can as well contribute in all decisions of the Emirate Council for the betterment of the people of the state.

He thanked the delegation for the visit and wished the Sardauna a success in all his endeavours.

Earlier speaking, the leader of the delegation, Alhaji Hamza Darma said they were at the palace to thank the Emir on the appointment of Malam Ibrahim Shekarau as a member of Kano Emirate Council.

He assured the Emir of the group’s continued cooperation towards the maintenance of peace in the state.

The delegation comprise of relations, former Commissioners, Special Advisers and political associate of Malam Ibrahim Shekarau
