Mourinho has just $80 million dollars to spend...May trade Kaka for Lampard, Gago and Van Der Vaart for Gerrard
Jose Mourinho will have just £45million to spend unless he can sell players.
The Real Madrid boss made an incredible impact last week with his 'Mourinho No 1' shirt out-selling players' tops.
But he will have to make do with a summer transfer budget of £200m less than predecessor Manuel Pellegrini.
Inter Milan's Brazilian right-back Maicon and Lazio's Serbian left-back Aleksander Kolarov are both priority signings.
Real are hoping to use players as bargaining chips as they look to bring in new stars. Liverpool will be offered Gago and Van der Vaart as part of any Steven Gerrard deal.
And Kaka could still yet be used to wrench Frank Lampard from Chelsea's grip. Mourinho was last week asked who he thought the world's best midfielder was.
The Spanish giants paid £6.7m to Inter Milan for Mourinho and owe another £6.7m.
They had to give Pellegrini a £3.5m pay-off as well as servicing debts.
The situation may mean Rafa van der Vaart, a target for Man United and Chelsea, is shown the door - as well as Lassana Diarra and Fernando Gago. |
