Nigeria Is Becoming More and More Dangerous
By Engr. Ifeanyi Ibeh
Nigeria is becoming a place where humans are afraid of dealing with one another to the highest order. When Nigeria would be a safe nation? Can the foreign governments make a change in Nigeria?
There is much violence going on in Nigeria. Since 2008, it has been assumed that Nigeria is a nation where killing and kidnappings are celebrated because a good number of humans are either kidnapped or killed on monthly basis, most especially in South-East zone, South – South zone, and in South-North zone. As a matter of fact, scores of Nigerians in Diasporas are scared of going back home because of the high level of violence circumstances.
In the United States, many humans think that Nigeria does not have political leaders but political rulers. This is to tell that it has been known internationally as a nation where lots of strange politicians are recruited and hired. Indeed, it is believed that the level of sin of political dishonesty in Nigeria is very high in the sense that many international politicians mind much of mingling with Nigerian politicians who sometimes travel to overseas.
There are many churches in Nigeria, especially in Lagos State and in Rivers State of Nigeria; many church leaders preach against other pastors so that they would be able to get more members that will help them to take care of financial responsibilities, which will enable them for the growth and development of their churches or something else.
In 2005, an online newspaper stated that Nigeria has lots of many talented humans who are engage in funny businesses; it is shocking news that many people are not willing to engage in any business with Nigerians because of the strange attitude. Many humans in Diaspora regularly receive business scam emails from Nigerians who claim to be the Chief Executive Officers of companies, the federal government contractor, the Managing Directors of bank, the governors of central Bank of Nigeria, and other numerous professional positions. I was told that many Nigerians who were deported to Nigeria as a result of illegal commitments they were engaged in abroad are now the godfathers of Code 419. For example, on August 2009, the Nigeria world newspaper said that more than 50 Nigeria were deported from the United States of America because of illegal activities; those guys would also increase the level of fraud in Nigeria.
All in all, violence, dishonest politicians, hypocritical religious leaders, and hardened criminals are increasing in a “geometrical progression”. I think that the best solution to the problems in Nigeria is government tolerance and perseverance. The government in Nigeria needs to monitor the activities of all the computer firms on the daily basis so that lots of humans in Nigeria who are engaged into the computer network illegal activities would be prosecuted, judged and sentenced to prisons without any preferential consideration; lots monitoring organizations need to be set up that would assist the Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) to check all budgets and projects secure and execute by the politicians in Nigeria. The men of God in Nigeria need to stop preaching against other churches or pastors because it is against true religion. The dangers in Nigeria would be limited when the government implements all the recommendations above
