LET THERE BE JUSTICE FOR GANI WITH INSTITUTION OF PROBE PANEL TO UNRAVEL THE REMOTE CAUSE OF GANI ’S DEATH:
By KAYODE A. AJULO

Gani Fawehinmi lived and died for what he believed in as I can only but described Chief Gani Fawehinmi (SAN) by borrowing from words of Martin Luther King Jnr. in the following terms:

“True compassion is more than flinging a coin to a beggar. It comes to see that an edifice which produces beggars needs restructuring.”

Gani’s true compassion made him to do what was viewed as impossible, it made him to challenged the rolling tanks of the military junta, it made him to be detained more than any dead or living Nigerians, it made him to disguised himself as a woman to defend young students with bleak future, his true compassion gave him lung cancer when he was not a smoker. Jubril Aminu, a professor of medicine even added his voice to this allusion.

There should be justice for Gani Fawehinmi in death; the present administration must set machinery in place to unravel the circumstances leading to the lung cancer of Gani Fawehinmi, which ultimately killed him.

There have been several uncontradicted allegations that Gani died fighting against a disease, cancer of the lung, inflicted on him by the emission of a gaseous substance by his jailers in the Prison during the regime of Gen. Ibrahim Banbagida.

Nigerian and the teeming beneficiaries of Gani’s brand of activism would like to know who were his jailors and the commandant of the Prison facility, who incarcerated him and on whose order.

Institution of Commission of enquiries into the remote causes of the death of Gani Fawehinmi will help in resolving the conspiracies against him and revealed the dangers political detainees are exposed to.

This to me is justice for Gani Fawehinmi as this is what he stand for throughout his sojourn in the mother earth, there should be a positive measures that comes with the death of this great man this to me is another way of immortalising him than the hypocrisies been bandied by the confirmed foes of the late freedom fighter.
