NIGERIA’S NEW ALBATROSS - MICHAEL AONDOAKAA
It is becoming very clear as the day and glaring as the red color superimposed on huge white background, that the minister of Justice in Nigeria, namely Michael Aondoakaa is in office to serve the whims, and caprices of some people, who are not concerned by the greatest good of the Nigerian people.
Michael Aondoakaa has revealed that he is being remotely controlled by some powerful forces whose interests are detrimental to the aspirations and wishes of the majority of Nigerians, at home and abroad. The greatest interest of the country of Nigeria may suffer irredeemable harm if Nigerians do not quickly shout out to Umaru Yaradua, and the whole world so that Aondoakaa can be removed from office as soon as possible.
If the happenings from the office of the Attorney General and minister of Justice in the Federal Republic of Nigeria are anything to go by, the occupant of that important position needs to be shoved out of office today.
The man, Michael Aondoakaa has shown very clearly that he is the devil’s advocate and Nigerians should not trust him with the responsibilities of that very crucial office anymore. There is no doubting where the majority of the Nigerian people stand in his everyday clashes with the hard fighting anti graft bodies of Economic and financial Crimes commission and ICPC. The various opinion polls conducted by the mass media in Nigeria say it all.
The man has constituted himself as an obstruction rather than a supporter to the image rebuilding jobs that the anti graft bodies in Nigeria have been doing. It is suspected that the Justice minister is already compromised by the powerfully rich men who still call some shots with the executive lords in Nigeria.
How would one describe the Attorney general’s letter to the London which was recently exposed by the media? The Attorney general had written to the attorney representing a Nigerian ex-governor enmeshed in a money laundering case, that there was no case against the concerned ex-governor in Nigeria, whereas the EFCC specifically announced to the whole world that twenty three former governors were being pursued. Additionally, if the attorney was unaware of chose to dumb, there have been Senate proceedings in which the EFCC Chairman announced that the affected ex-governor had a case to answer.
Above all, did the attorney general’s office liaise with the anti graft bodies over the letter from the tried ex governor’s British lawyer ? If the attorney general did not have something to hide in his pants, why would he not ensure that the EFCC or ICPC’s inputs were inscribed on his final decision? His action is not different from what the madam speaker of the House of Representatives with the House renovation scandal. The madam speaker acted to ‘quickly award and closed’ the contact which has not given her a bloody nose, and may eventually consume her.
Mr. attorney general too, perhaps working to please his godfathers, or some paymasters, had acted to please interests far away from that of the tax payers in Nigeria. His after the act explanation that he was not aware of any case pending against James Ibori is baloney, and he should stop his sickening excuse that he had to reply to the letter from a private lawyer to the ex governor, who obviously must have been assured of the reply from the ‘rule of law’ attorney general in Nigeria.
Umaru Yaradua seems to slumbering in Nigeria, and needs to wake up. If the slumber is getting too deep, Babangana Kingibe needs to save him from this. The man, Michael Aondoakaa is becoming an embarrassment to this administration, even though the route by which it came in should be of great embarrassment already.
If the Federal reign of Yaradua is going to choose to go the perdition way, then it is a choice. Michael Aondoakaa will surely lead it to its death.
Today, the so called servant leader seems like a servant-servant being held under hostage by some powerful ex rulers of the years between 1999 to 2007. His much pooh-poohed 'zero tolerance' for corruption is being seen as a deceit. Zero tolerance means sacking Michael Aondoakaa today, this minute and not a second longer.
Yaradua may need to be attacked by all lovers of the great deeds of the EFCC, and all people who have come to agree that corruption in any form needs to be permanently ostracized from Nigeria. His continued silence is accessory, and against his oft repeated 'zero tolerance' for corruption. The former 'executhieves' have been growing more and more in confidence, those who ran away quickly returned after the sponsors of Yaradua's voodoo election as Preisdent assured them that they have him in the bag.
The letter from Aondoakaa helping Ibori to escape further probe of his fantabulous money in England, and his snubbing the Metropolitan Police to frustrate their case against the same Ibori should make any anti corruption President to fire him now.
Michael Aondoakaa should be relieved of his ministerial appointment, and Umaru Yaradua too should buckle up!
