Re: Plateau Crucible; Distorting Facts. By Ndiameeh Babrik
The problem of the average Hausa and or Fulani man is that he has no conscious. That is why you can have a mega headline in the Daily Trust of Wednesday 24th February 2010, "Yar'adua is back", yet 14 days on not even the Acting President who is suppose to be Yar’adua’s right hand man have been able to set eyes on him. “Abi Yar’adua don become ghost?”
We can understand the way Umaru was evacuated out of Nigeria on the 23rd of November 2009 since it was a medical emergency and emergencies can happen in the middle of the night. But we are at a lost, I for one I am at a lost at his manner of being evacuated and smuggled back. The way of his being smuggled back in the night lends credence to those who opined that he is in a vegetative state. Having stayed in the Saudi hospital for 93 days, with the information being released by one Mr Aminci supposedly Nigerian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia that Umaru Yar’adua was exercising for 25 minutes everyday, we expected our president to come in the day time and in fact prime time of the day say 2 pm or 3 pm. He will then be received by the Acting President, all ministers, and service chiefs and in fact all the school children in Abuja will line the route from the Nnamdi Azikwe Airport to the Villa waving the Nigerian flag for the ‘President’
But alas what did see, or what did we hear is more ideal, since we only saw pictures in the newspapers. Here was a President who was evacuated and smuggled back like contraband in the middle of the night into his own country, which he is supposed to preside over. The airport lights were turned off. Overzealous soldiers chased conventional airport staff and workers away from their duty post. The air ambulance, which he was brought inside, was parked in the bush, a Ford ambulance was driven to the aircraft and a stretcher was lowered from the aircraft into the ambulance.
Mr Yar’adua is still back in the Saudi Arabian hospital that is the whole truth. All that happened on the night of 24th of February was just a decoy to fool Nigerians and halt the supposed declaration of Yar’adua to be incapacitated. Principal Officers of the three arms of government must see Yar’ adua now or he must be impeached immediately. All those who participated in the 24th of February deceit must be prosecuted for deceit under oath.
Well Mr Ogbulafor, we now know that power belongs to God truly. I am yet to know whether it is the African god, Islamic god or Christian.
Enough of the Umaru affair for now.
My average Hausa/Fulani brother has no conscious anymore. Our best bet in Nigeria is the sovereign national conference. With the Yar’adua episode still fresh on my memory, let us sit down together and discuss Nigeria as we have been discussing on the pages of the news media.
Tried as Dr Aliyu Tilde did to rationalise his three-piece article, he eventually succumbed to the Hausa/Fulani ethnocentrism that his co-Hausa/Fulani writers and their paid agents have dished out.
I am still waiting for the day the likes of Dr Tilde and his ilk will write and call for the sovereign national conference, since they claim they are marginalized in the Nigerian federation as well.
Between 2007 and 2009, the number of Christians killed in Bauchi State as a result of religious riots by Islamic fundamentalists led by a self-styled council of Ulamas are yet to be quantified. Bauchi is the home state of Dr Tilde, he never mentioned that even once in his three-piece article.
It is on record that Muslim mercenaries of Bauchi State origin was arrested in Jos in January 2009, Dr Tilde feints ignorance of that. The Bauchi Muslim mercenaries were taken to Abuja and there is no news as at yet about them.
All the previous judicial commission of enquiries into all the previous crises in Jos have pointed out the fact that the Hausa Muslims have always started the violence and the subsequent crises. Dr Tilde never for once made reference to those reports in his article.
Fortunately he mentioned the Kazaure, Jigawa state crisis; I believe Jonah Jang was in Kazaure to engineer the crisis. Dr Tilde mentioned that a policeman killed a Muslim that was the cause of that crisis, then what brought about the burning of Churches again if I make ask you Dr Tilde my friend?
Let us complete his article for Dr Tilde; the best that ever happened on the Plateau is the coming to government of Jonah Jang. By the time he finishes his tenure in 2015, the average Plateau man and women and by implication those of us in the Middle-belt will be proud that a Jonah Jang was here. I expected Dr Tilde as an intellectual to be above partisanship knowing fully well that the Hausa/Fulani are always the aggressors by virtue of their religious upbringing.
If we go into history, as recent as the 1980s, cogent facts are on record as to the fact that the expansionist tendencies of the Hausa/Fulani with their borrowed religion Islam has been the cause of all religious crises in Nigeria. Right from the Maitatsine Islamic sect crises in Kano in 1980, Maiduguri 1982, Yola 1984 and Gombe 1985.
The militancy of the Muslim Hausa/Fulani assumed another dimension in 1986 when General Babangida (rtd) arbitrarily dragged Nigeria into the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC). Since then Nigerian Christians have never known peace. The highest point of irresponsible by the Islamic fundamentalists was the behaving of an Igbo man by name Gideon Akaluka in Kano in 1994. They shamelessly hoisted his severed head on a stick and were parading Kano metropolis with it. Yet nobody has been arrested up till date for that gruesome murder of a Nigerian.
It is on record too that Hausa Muslims sparked off riot in Kafanchan in 1987 simply because one Abubukar Bako converted to Christianity.
They sparked off another riot in Zagon Kataf in 1991 until the Katafawas dealt with them seriously. Up till today they are still begging to go back to Zagon Kataf.
I do not need to waist my time on the various premeditated religious riots on Christians in Kano, Kaduna and Borno states. All the Hausa/Fulani writers and commentators have never for once condemned any of them.
The case of Bauchi, the home state of Dr Aliyu Tilde is a special one. It has become notoriously the hotbed of Islamic fundamentalism now with four religious riots in just one year. Dr Tilde never for once deemed that to be genocide, rather the defence mounted by the gallant Plateau Christians who defended themselves against Muslim marauders is what is paining him now to his bone marrow.
It is on record that the four NYSC corps members killed by Hausa Muslims in the Jos crisis of 2008 where never Beroms Afizere or Anaguta. They were Yorubas who were killed by Hausa Muslims. In fact one of them was a Yoruba Muslim.
Two weeks ago, Hausa Muslims attacked the house of the Yoruba leader in Jos. All the business premises burnt by Hausa Muslims in Katako market in Jos belong to the Igbos. All the Houses burnt in Kwanan Shagari in Jos by Hausa Muslims belong to the Igbos. The two Kilba Pastors killed by Hausa Muslims in Bukuru were from Adamawa State and certainly not natives of Plateau. The LCCN Church Headquarters located at Dogon Dutse Jos attacked by Hausa Muslims exclusively belong to the Bachama people from Adamawa State. Bachamas are never natives of Plateau.
The various ECWA churches burnt by Muslim Hausa rioters at Dutse Uku have more Yorubas then Plateau natives. The Cherubim and Seraphim Church at Dilimi Jos burnt by the Hausa Muslim arsonists is exclusively a Yoruba people Church.
I was thinking Dr Tilde will carry all these facts in his ‘Plateau crucible’ but nay they are facts to be hidden.
I advise Dr Aliyu Tilde to please read the reports of the various Judicial Commission of Enquiry into all the Plateau crises. All the reports have indicted the Hausa Muslims in Jos and Plateau for always starting the riots premeditatedly.
The clandestine move to islamise the middle belt further through the use of force can never work anymore
People like Dr Tilde who benefited from the generosity of the Christian faith and Plateau State must tender an apology.
Stories framed up just for the sake of defence of Hausa Muslim aggressors cannot work anymore.
By the way when will Hausa Muslim writers and commentators ever join us in calling for the sovereign national conference since they too claim to be marginalized?
Our best bet is the sovereign national conference. Shikenan.
