RE: OGONI DEMAND APOLOGY FROM ROTIMI AMAECHI
BY: ZUBBY ALAZUA
Ordinarily the writer of the article with the above caption published in this medium would have been ignored but for the mere fact that the voice sounded like the voice of Jacob though the hands were that of Esau.
The article could best be described as clearly disgusting especially as it came from someone who claims to be based in the United States of America. The terrible constructions and structures of sentences are not only shameful but disgraceful for a man who lives and works in the US. The common sense grammatical errors are unpardonable even by Warri standard.
From the tone of the article, the writer (if he actually used his real name) has obviously lost touch with the realities of being an indigenous Ogoni man and may also have lost touch of the fact that he resides in the US as an economic migrant and fake refugee.
In his opening sentence he posited that: “It has come to the attention of the entire Ogoni people home and abroad that, the unelected, and corrupt judicial imposed governor of our dear state, Rivers State, came to Ogoni in the company of his low-priced kitchen cabinet from Ogoni to insult Ogoni people, and later told journalists to doctored the information in other not to cause aftermath from Ogoni people.”
The problem with the likes of the pseudo-named Olarka Blade is that they pretend to represent the interest of the Ogoni people when in actual fact they feed fat on the suffering of the real Ogoni people. The likes of the writer and their families in the so called struggle globe throttle round the world in all -expense paid trips.
Blade may have other more serious reasons to attempt to ridicule the entire state not just the governor because if his reason for doing that was to express the feelings of the Ogoni people concerning what transpired at Bori the question then would be: who is he in the first instance to speak for the entire people of the area. Does his claim of representing MOSOP USA give him the audacity to insult a sitting governor for expressing his opinion on a matter; the Supreme court for passing a judgment after duly hearing both sides of the argument; and the Nigerian press for not writing what a US- based refugee think they should write.
The letters and tone of the article obviously show that Blade has no moral standing to even be angry with whatever perceived offense the governor might have committed.
The Ogoni- born refugee did not even stop at the governor of his state he went on to ridicule the nation’s apex court and the Attorney General of the Federation. So on what moral ground does he stand to school Amaechi on the precepts of decent etiquette?
Clearly from his assertions concerning the Nigerian press, the MOSOP US Ogoni man is completely unaware that the Ogoni struggle succeeded thus far solely because of the unalloyed support of the media in the Ogoni campaign even without any form of “brown envelopes.”
The genuine Ogoni activists like Mitee, et al should as a matter of urgency correct this wrong impression the so called Ogoni US man has created concerning the relationship between the press and the Ogoni struggle.
It is noteworthy that this is the first time since the days of Ken Saro Wiwa that the name Olarka Blade is brandished as being associated with MOSOP and the Ogoni struggle.
Interestingly, a search for Olarka Brade on the web revealed that no such person exists anywhere and if actually he is a real person, he is nowhere in the US but somewhere in Netherlands or Germany. The prominent “Olarka Blades” known worldwide are clones of software virus used for cyber attacks and other hacking mischief.
Also the article posted on this website was sent from somewhere in Diobu, Port Harcourt.
Blade set out to create the impression that an Ogoni man cannot be allowed to be governor of Rivers state. This to me is purely his opinion and a very cheap blackmail because there are so many sons and daughters of Ogoni who are not only qualified but are top contenders any time anywhere. Even in his branded “unelected” Amaechi government, Olarka should do a survey to confirm that in the manifest of who is who in the administration the Ogonis have an unfair share of honourable slots of responsibilities.
Even Amaechi’s so called political opponents are decent enough not have used such words and derogatory descriptions in their pronouncements about him. So could Olarka Blade be a hack writer or a genuinely pained Ogoni man?
