Governor Gbenga Daniel's Chief Of Staff Arrested

Governor Gbenga Daniel

The Chief of Staff to the State Governor, Mr. Yomi Majekodunmi has been arrested this by policemen said to be from the State Security Service, SSS.

Majekodunmi was arrested by the police for leading a group of armed thugs said to be about 20 to the residence of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Samson Tunji Egbetokun.

Pointblanknews.com gathered from reliable sources in the state that since the removal of the former Assembly Speaker, Hon. Titi Oseni, the State Governor has been jittery and suspicious of the new leadership of the Assembly led by Egbetokun. It was gathered that Egbetokun is bent on exposing the corruption in the Governor Gbenga Daniel led Government and supporters of the Governor are making every moves to frustrate the Assembly.

The latest attempt at intimidating the Speaker according to a source within the Government is part of the move to get the legislators and the Speakers back down on any move to expose the Governor and his men.

Governor Daniel is considered to have controlled the legislature and the state leadership of the PDP while former Speaker Oseni was in power. He lost his grip of the legislature as soon as the former Speaker was impeached while he was on holiday in U.S.

However, a worrisome dimension had been introduced last week when a member of the House of Representatives, Mr. Kayode Amusan, exposed an alleged plan by some politicians from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to assassinate him and three others.

Another source told pointblanknews.com that the simmering crisis which first came to public knowledge is said to do with the rift between former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the governor. It was gathered that the problem Obasanjo has against Daniel is to do with Yoruba leadership, which the governor is allegedly pursuing with vigor without the consent of the former president who purportedly paved way for his return in 2007.
