YAR’ADUA DISCHARGED, STILL ON LIFE SUPPORT AT A PRIVATE LOCATION

Musa Yar'Adua

Nigeria’s President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua has been discharged from a Saudi Arabia hospital and fears linger that he is still in critical condition on life support in an undisclosed location in Jeddah.

According to sources, President Yar’Adua had to be moved from the hospital to a private location on the insistence of his wife, Hajia, Turai Yar’Adua who is particularly disturbed over the exposure of the hospital’s name where President Yar’Adua is hospitalized.

When Pointblanknews.com contacted the Dr. Suleiman Fakeeh Hospital, a member of the Saudi German Hospital Group where President Yar’Adua recently had a surgery, a hospital personal who refused to give his name said “he is discharged already. I have checked the patient list and he is no longer here. Asked when he was discharged, he said “please I cannot tell you more.”

However, another official of the hospital in an angry tone said “you are talking about a president of a country; nobody is going to tell you he is here or not. This is security issue, ok. Please call the office of the President in Nigeria and ask them.”

The hospital official continued “please don’t waste your money making international calls for this kind of question because no one will give you any information.” He hung up the phone.

Pointblanknews.com had exclusively reported that there were indications that Nigeria's President, Umaru Musa Yar'Adua's life may be hanging on very thin thread of survival following complications from his recent surgery in a Saudi Hospital and currently on life support.

According to sources, Yar'Adua who was admitted at Dr. Suleiman Fakeeh Hospital, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, was operated for an undisclosed ailment but he was known to have a medical history of kidney problem and Churg Strauss Syndrome, an inflammation of the blood vessel.

However, Nigeria Communications Ministry quickly moved, yesterday, to douse growing apprehension that President Yar’Adua may have answered the last call by issuing a statement in which such fears were allayed.

According to Nigeria’s Communication Minister, Mr. John Odey in a three paragraph statement insisted that President Yar’Adua is “very well and healthy.”

The statement reads: “ The Federal Government wishes to appreciate the concern that has been raised in the Newspapers and some sections of the media over the past few days on the state of health of Mr. President, Alhaji Umar Musa Yar Adua.”

“The Federal Government wishes to restate here that Mr. President is very well and healthy. He is in good health to steer the affairs of the state to bring about better livelihood for the generality of the people of Nigeria. He is expected back in Nigeria soon after his trip to Saudi Arabia where he has gone on lesser hajj.

We urge all Nigerians to continue support this administration to fully realize the development goals of the country.”
